I am a biomedical scientist, entrepreneur, and proud mother, driven by purpose and passion. My journey has been shaped by a dedication to knowledge and growth, earning four master’s degrees in Haematology, Immunology, and Clinical Biochemistry. Each step has been a testament to my belief that learning never stops and excellence is a choice. Today, I lead my own clinical laboratory, turning vision into reality and science into impact. I am proud to contribute to healthcare while building something meaningful of my own. Beyond my career, I am a wife and a mother to my daughter, my greatest inspiration. Balancing these roles has taught me strength, resilience, and the power of determination. I believe in breaking down barriers and redefining what women can achieve.

Dr Suzan Mattar, PhD (UK)

Associate Professor, Medical Microbiology & Immunology, University of Jordan

Dr. Suzan Matar is a senior researcher at The University of Jordan with over 20 years of experience in clinical diagnostics and molecular immunology. Her career is defined by academic leadership, including tenures as Department Head and Visiting Researcher at the University of Nottingham and Nottingham Trent University, UK. She is a dedicated contributor to the scientific community, recently joining the Editorial Board of the Iraqi Journal of Microbiology and Biomedical Science (IJMBS).

Dr Luay Abu-Qatouseh, PhD, (Germany)

Head of Department - Medical Analysis, Petra University, Jordan

RISE-UK Foundation had the privilege of meeting with Dr. Luay Abu-Qatouseh, Head of the Department of Medical Analysis at the University of Petra, a distinguished academic in the field of medical microbiology and immunology. Dr. Abu-Qatouseh holds a PhD from the University Hospital of Münster in Germany and is recognised as one of the first Jordanian academics to obtain the American Board certification in clinical microbiology, reflecting his contribution to advancing laboratory sciences and diagnostic practice. The meeting was highly positive, with strong interest expressed in developing joint initiatives that support research capacity, academic growth, and international collaboration. This engagement reflects RISE-UK Foundation’s commitment to fostering meaningful global partnerships that contribute to knowledge exchange and improved health and research outcomes.
